Lead climbing opportunities depend on your experience level and current conditions. During the skills assessment on Day 1, your instructors will evaluate your readiness for leading. If you demonstrate solid ice climbing fundamentals, confident ice screw placement, and good judgment, you may get opportunities to lead pitches throughout the course. Safety is always our priority — we'll start with shorter, well-protected sections and progress based on your performance and comfort level. Even if you're not ready to lead yet, you'll learn advanced leading techniques through observation, discussion, and by following experienced climbers on challenging terrain.
