Hardangervidda Winter Expedition

This is a true wilderness expedition — no marked snowmobile trails and no cabin comforts. Each day we travel 10–15 km on skis, pulling sleds with our gear, and set camp in tents out on the plateau.

The trip is rated moderate to advanced. Conditions can be challenging, but the reward is complete immersion in nature: vast silence, reindeer tracks, and nights under the stars.

Evenings are spent preparing meals together and sharing stories by the light of the stove. It's a demanding but unforgettable experience of Norway's high mountain wilderness.

All shared expedition gear is provided — skis, tents, stoves, pulks, and cooking equipment. You'll need to bring your backpack, warm clothing, and personal items. A detailed packing list will be sent upon booking.

We offer optional add-ons to make your adventure even more convenient. You can add shuttle service from Oslo Airport (Gardermoen) to Rjukan and back, as well as hotel accommodation for the night before and after your expedition. These services can be added during the booking process.

Participants should have some experience with cross-country skiing and outdoor camping, and feel comfortable spending several days outdoors in cold conditions.

You don't need to be an athlete — a reasonable level of fitness is enough to enjoy the trip, as you'll be moving at a steady pace pulling a relatively light pulk. This adventure is ideal for those who enjoy being outdoors and want to build confidence and skills in a beautiful Arctic setting.
